This is so true. I hold my long distance friends as close as I can, and have quite a lot of real friends because of it. With one person in particular, I have had this for more than 5 years and we're still going strong. And I am so so thankful for it.

Love this! I feel the exact same way about my long distance friendships. I love all the e-mailing, twitter convos and reading each others blogs. I have found the most amazing women through the blogging community and I am so glad that I am a part of it!!

I love this post, Mandy. For me, I have a lot of IRL friends. And the reason I have so many is they all play a different role in my life. I think my online friends are just an extension of that. They know me in a slightly different way than everyone else does, but it doesn't mean they are any less on the friendship scale. Glad you're finally seeing that, too.

What a wonderful post. I'm one of those people who doesn't really have a whole lot of real life friends, but thanks to the internet, the friends I made over ten years ago when I lived in the UK have remained some of the closest friends I have. And thanks to blogging, I'm blessed to have found wonderful people like you - and I hope one day we can meet face to face and share coffee :)
