I agree with you about being "settled in" for the night- I'm not good with last minute plans, it's funny though no one EVER calls me last minute anymore, all my friends are just used to it I guess.
Here are a few of mine:

I am the type of friend who will listen and provide sympathy when you need it or advice if you need that.

I am the type of friend who cares enough to speak up when you're making bad decisions or putting yourself at risk, because offering an outside opinion that comes from a place of love always feels worthwhile.

I'm the type of friend who will say those things once and then let them lie, and I'm not one who will badger you of make you feel guilty.

I'm the type of friend that says I will go on a trip with you and actually follows through with it.

I am the type of friend that remembers your birthday every year.

I am the type of friend that is pretty practical and will tell you if I think you are being unreasonable. Especially when relationships and weddings are involved.

I am the type of friend who would prefer to catch up with you over a glass of wine or cup of coffee instead of at a loud, crowded bar.
