Weekend Fun

Its Sunday night, I am completely exhausted from a wonderful weekend spent with my best friend in Columbus. There is just something completely refreshing about spending time with some of the most important people in your life. Some of the highlights:

* Spending Friday afternoon having lunch at Columbus Brewing Company, then spending 3.5 hours at the Book Loft in a very fun section of Columbus. The Book Loft? Absolute heaven -- 32 rooms of books. No joke, there were books shoved in every possible nook and cranny. We easily could have spent another several hours there. If you are ever in Columbus go check it out!

* While driving around looking at houses the BFF and her boyfriend are considering buying we took a wrong turn, ending up in a not so nice neighborhood. Instead of getting the hell out of there like we should have, we saw a little ice cream stand and made an adventure out of it. Not only did we stumble upon a place that had over 25 flavors of soft serve, it was CHEAP, like $2.66 for a 16 ounce soft serve! Ghetto be damned, we found a hidden gem AND lived to tell about it.

* Went to this kick ass place called The Movie Tavern, where you are served dinner/dessert/drinks while watching a movie. We saw Angels and Demons, which was basically all sorts of awesomeness. We also watched the movie with AJ Hawk, starting linebacker for the Green Bay Packers (and former OSU Buckeye!). Can I just tell you, he is a beast and I have no doubt that accidentally running into him would result in serious injury, he just looked completely solid, kind of like Chuck Norris.

* Went out on the town (and when I say out on the town, I mean I have absolutely no idea where we were because I may or may not have indulged in some pre-gaming before heading out for an evening of fun) with some of my favorite people and saw a lot of people I hadn't seen in ages. It may or may not have involved some inappropriate karaoking; shots with completely obscene and even more inapporpriate names (word of advice -- don't ever do a shot with the word fart in it); taking entirely way too many fun pictures which will leave us all saying "What in the hell was I thinking;" completely random and ever so popular drunk dialing and texting to people who may or may not include friends, other bloggers, acquaintaces I haven't talked to in months, and the BFF's dad to assure him his 20 year old daughter wasn't drinking and that she was our sober skipper (for some reason I always feel the need to call reassuring him of things when I've had a little too much to drink, thankfully he's used it to after so many years).

* Were hoping to be able to call the evening a "cultural event" when we went to the Waffle House at 2am after closing down the bar. Why a cultural event? Because we had planned on hanging out with transvestites and drag queens, but sadly we were there too early. So we settled for completely unhealthy, but oh so glorious greasy drunk food and took more fun pictures. Because yes, we really are that cool.

* Rounded out the rest of the weekend out with watching some great movies on DVD, general hanging out (read: nursing a hangover that may not completely be gone), and a fun afternoon spent cooking all sorts of delicious food on the grill, attempting to put together an impossible puzzle, and playing card games.

So tell me, how was your weekend?

[sigh] Can we say jealous much?? :)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Book Loft. Jay and I would spend HOURS in there when we were first married. It's the coolest place ever.

I love going to places where you can eat and see a movie. And AJ Hawk?????

My weekend wasn't nearly as exciting.

I tend to thrive in the not-so-nice neighborhoods, but mostly because I grew up in them. Sometimes I wish someone would mess with me so I had an excuse to pop 'em.

I'm only sort of joking.

I wish we had a book loft here! I'm going to need lots of books for my classroom, even though I've already started collecting them!

My weekend was good besides the rain and colder temperatures!

Also, shots with sexual names ("Blowjob") are NOT a good idea. They're not a "good" as they're supposed to be.

And that seems like an AWESOME weekend. I relaxed during the weekend and I relaxed eve more during theses past 3 days at the beach. :D
