Lasting Impressions 11

(This weeks Lasting Impressions post comes by way of the wonderful Auburn Kat, who was one of the first bloggers with whom I really formed a friendship and hope to someday, in the very near future, meet up with.)

"Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you."
- Elbert Hubard

The above quote describes my best friend A, who is now married and lives in Dallas. We have been through it all together, which is expected, seeing as we met each other on the bus when we were in kindergarten.

Over the years we have experienced it all together from….

-catching salamanders in one of our ponds

-the 4-wheeling incident where I may or may not have broken her toe

-biking to each other’s houses

-camping in my backyard

-playing Barbies or My Little Pony

-drinking alcohol for the first time

-being roommates in college together

-supporting each other with our decisions to move across the country away from our families and friends

-her being there for me during my mom’s illness

-being there for each other through all of our heartbreaks…mostly mine

Last year, I watched her walk down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams and I couldn’t be happier that she is still a part of my life. While we don’t talk as often as I would like, she will always be my best friend, after all, she knows all about me, and still likes me.

Aw, so sweet!

If you're still doing these I would be happy to write one now that I'm back on the blogging horse. Drop me an e-mail if you have room still!
