How To Get Him (Her) Interested

(Todays guest blogger is the fabulous Ashley from Turquoise Ribbons.)

Hello readers of Mandy's blog! I'm Ashley from Turquoise Ribbons. When Mandy first asked me to guest blog for her, I was ecstatic because, really, who doesn't love guest blogging?! But then I realized that meant I actually had to write something... and then realized I had no fun/exciting/creative ideas. Boo. So I thought and thought and thought some more. Finally I decided to share with you some words of wisdom I've learned over the years. I hope you enjoy it.
(Disclaimer: This post is not meant to be taken as 100% truth. Please don't write me nasty emails if you try these tips and they don't work. Honestly, if I really knew how to get a guy to like me, I would probably be in a relationship right now, haha.)
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I present to you...
5 Ways to get a guy (or girl) to like you:
1. Compliment him. Be sincere and genuine about it. If you like his shirt, tell him. Does he remind you of Edward? Umm... try to restrain yourself from jumping all over him and kissing is sexy lips. Maybe you could just tell him you think he's attractive? That could work. Everyone likes compliments, even if they make you uncomfortable.
2. Talk to him, preferably about something intelligent. On one of my dates the guy and I had spent an hour talking about feminism and how I don't believe women should be forced to stay home and raise children. I've also spent hours talking about psychology, SSRI's and medication therapy on dates before. Both of these men asked me out again. I'm sure there are exceptions, but most guys seem to love when a girl is smart enough to talk about more than stilettos and bronzer.
3. Show him you are well-rounded. Since I've started getting back into the dating scene, I've learned that there are a lot of people with very few interests outside of work and partying. Don't be that person. If you enjoy running, talk about the marathon you are training for next month. If you take art classes, ask him what his favorite painting is. You like cooking? Email me!
4. Be adventurous. This doesn't mean you take a new route to work each morning, although that's cool too. I'm talking about traveling, moving to new cities, sky diving, wanting to experience new things. A girl with an adventurous side seems to be huge turn-on for most guys. It shows him that you aren't scared to live a little and that he won't be bored in the relationship.
5. Be confident. It's true that some guys will say they want a confident girl, but are then terrified when they actually meet that girl. I guess it can be intimidating. But still, I think confidence is sexy. Just don't take it too far and seem arrogant. Just be secure in who you are. That's the best thing you have to offer.
Good luck!

Great idea for a post Ashley! And thanks for hosting her, Mandy =)

I can't agree more with the adventure/confidence thing.

My bf is constantly telling me he loves that I love to try new things and push myself. I guess it works!?

Great tips, Ashley. Mandy is going to be getting a lot of search hits for "how to get boys to like you." I say this because it's one of the number one searches that lead people to my blog. At least here they'll get real advice!

It's funny because some guys run for the hills when a girl has a brain!
