Security Blanket

Sometimes I wish it was socially acceptable for adults to carry around security blankets, much like Linus from the Peanuts gang.

What would I carry around? My Dennis Basso Faux Leopard Throw. The one I want when I've had a bad day. The one I love to fall asleep under on a cold snowy night. The one I sometimes have to fight my dog for because she seems to love it as much as I do. The one that is so incredibly soft and comfy.

And today, I really could have used it. Today was just one of those days.

Argh. Yes, I've had plenty of those I-just-want-to-go-to-bed-and-snuggle-with-my-furry-dog days.

Oh, and for the record, I don't sleep well without one of those polar blankets. EVen if it's hot outside.

Confession: I still sleep with my childhood blanket. It's true.

Sorry you had such a bad day. Hoping tomorrow is better for you!

Amen! I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Little confession: I keep blanket at work partially because it's so freaking cold in my office, but partially because I need extra comfort there sometimes.

I have a White Bear that is my snuggle buddy on bad days! I hope you have a better day tomorrow!

Dude. Tonight, I got home from a really loooong day at work, grabbed my security pillow (the one I have had since I was born) and this cashmere throw my mom gave me and fell asleep on the couch for two hours. It felt wonderful.

Snuggle your leopard blanket. And feel better my dear!

Sorry to hear that you had one of "those" days. I'm sure the weather did not help any! I most certainly did spend a good half hour on the couch under a blanket yesterday!! Here's to a better day today!!

If only that blanket were electric, it would be the most awesome blanket on the face of the earth!

Actually, the idea of being wrapped up in a blanket while programming in the lab right now is the greatest idea ever.
That and napping.

(sorry I've been such a bad commenter... I'm *still* catching up from the holidays. Sigh)

Oh I am sorry you had a bad day. It will get better. Those kind of days go as fast as they come.

There is nothing wrong with adults having a security blanket. Promise!

I hope your day got better!

I slept with a stuffed animal all the way up until Mike and I moved in together...so I completely understand how you feel.

Thank you all for your comments. I am glad to know that I am not the only one who still has a favorite blanket!

Good lord, do I know that feeling. I still have my childhood teddy bear in my dresser drawer. On bad days, he sleeps with me. JiT doesn't mind. Hang in there. I hope that the end of the week comes quick for us both!

Honestly - I have a couple "grown up" security blankets that I have with me no matter where I am:

- my iPhone, because I can go online whenever I like on it, which is a huge connection thing for me

- my Sigg water bottle. Without it I outright panic. I know I always have it with me, and it's a real comfort to know that

I just want to hide in bed all day... not even come out with my blanky- just stay there with it.
