Beauty Must Haves

A few weeks ago Kay* asked her readers what their 5 makeup must haves were and honestly, I am stuck in a rut. When I find something I love I quit looking. I have mainly worn nothing but Laura Geller makeup for the past 6, 7 years (sure I have different lip glosses, eye shadows and other random things, but the main bulk of it is LG). Then about a month ago I cheated on her. I felt bad (sort of like when you get your hair done by someone other than your usual stylist) but I just wanted to try something else (and I was already a huge fan of the Philosophy line). And by try, I mean Big T bought it, loved it and told me not to even think about swiping hers. Apparently she’s still not over the fact that I may or may not have acquired and relocated her last perfect shade of red lipstick when I found out she had an unused tube and the color was discontinued. I couldn’t help it! It was an emergency! I digress, I am thinking that by not expanding my make-up horizons there are probably some great products out there I am missing out on. I have tried a lot (thanks to all the free stuff I get from the QVC Beauty Bash), but when it comes to buying I stick with my tried and true favorites.

So here they are at the moment:

Laura Geller’s Spackle which does exactly what the name implies. It’s a light weight under make-up primer that evens out your skin. I use it right over my morning moisturizer and it helps my makeup stay on all day. There is also a tinted shade that I wear alone when I am in a hurry, don’t have time or don’t want to wear a lot of makeup.

Philosophy the Supernatural: Airbrush Canvas Foundation, this was the product I just had to have causing me to stray from my beloved Laura Geller Bronze-n-Brighten. Can I just tell you how much I love this product? It matches my skin-tone (which is harder than it sounds). The coverage is phenomenal and it really does make my skin look flawless. Its my newest favorite!

Laura Geller Line N’ Define, my favorite shade is Impanema Brown. Its an eyeliner and mascara combined. I’ve found that with my dark hair and eyes black tends to give me a goth look, but this shade of brown with flecks of gold is perfect! Its one of the few liquid liners I have mastered and it won’t come off or run or anything of that sort. I have also used the plum, navy, and emerald shade which may sound scary but I promise, they aren’t.

Joan Rivers Minty Lip Glaze. This was one of the finds that I have bought a couple of times since my fist Beauty Bash. I know Joan Rivers looks like her face couldn't possibly be pulled any tighter but the lady really does know her lip glaze! I carry one of these with me at all times in a coat pocket, my bag, my car. Its just enough shine plus very moisturizing. Sometimes I slick it over my lipstick or times I just wear it on its own and it has a slightly minty flavor.

Philosophy's Hope In A Jar Moisturizer. LOVE LOVE LOVE this moisturizer! Its one of the few moisturizers that I have found that hydrates my skin without leaving it feeling oily. It just makes my skin feel and look better. There is also a sensitive skin formula and one with a 20 SPF!

So there you have. Now tell me, what are your beauty/makeup must haves? What products am I missing out on by not straying from my favorites?

Gosh, I've never even tried any of them before!

I love watching the makeup stuff on QVC! A couple years ago I ordered Dirt and got a free sample of Hope in a Jar. I thought it was great, but I tend to stick to drugstore buys for my wallet and convenience. :)

I wear all Loreal mineral makeup and Sonya Kushuk lipstick.

I have no idea what dramamine is, but Gravol is a pill you take like a half hour before you fly/drive so you don't get motion sickness! I can't do any long trips without it!

Mmmmm... This sounds like a meme.

When it comes to eyeshadow and liner I use MAC. Everything else is drug store stuff. Cover girl or maybelline.

I love makeup. Makes me a happy girl.

I love Philosophy stuff! I also use Hope in a Jar, and Purity Made Simple cleanser and Hope in a Tube eye/lip cream. I heard you're supposed to start using eye cream in your twenties so I've been using it for the past couple of years. And I LOVE their body washes! They smell soooo good! Basically, I'm a Philosophy FANATIC!

I am in love with NARS. I love their concealer, their powder. Not to mention their blush, I highly recognize that every girl try the Orgasm blush at least once. And let us not forget their eyeshadow is amazing too.

My other favorite line of eye shadow is Stila.

Those are pretty much the only brands I ever use.

For skin care I use all Burt's Bees. I really love the honey and orange lotion. For my face I just wear a tinted moisturizer and some Clinique powder. If it is a special occasion, I will wear some eyeliner. Pretty simple.

I used to use a lot of Clinque but when I got poor I went back to drug store brands and really didn't see a difference in quality.

I use Cover Girl foundation religiously and Maybeline waterproof mascara because it stays on even when I rub my eyes all day. But my one key product is Loreal HIP eye shadow. The brighter, funner the color, the better.

I've been looking for a new moisturizer... I'll have to try Hope in a Jar.

My makeup is terrible. I was really into bare minerals for awhile but when that ran out, I've been using a bunch of random drugstore stuff. Luckily my sister's sister-in-law works at MAC and has offered to do my wedding makeup, so over Xmas my sister and I are planning to shopping spree at her store. So overdue.

I DO love watching QVC makeup shows though (I just never order?)

I love, love, love Philosophy stuff. Their Amazing Grace lotion is my favorite!

Wow these are great products. I am a big fan of Philosophy products and I have to check out the mascara/eyeliner in one too.

I don't really watch QVC but once when dad was bored, he bought me a vacuum cleaner on it so that was good.
