Tonight I Have Hope

Hope is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one's life. Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best. To hope is to wish for something with the expectation of the wish being fulfilled.... -- Wikipedia

Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence. ~Lin Yutang

Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. ~Anne Lamott

Once you choose hope, anything's possible. ~Christopher Reeve

Tonight barriers were broken, obstacles were overcome. Tonight I have never been more proud to be an American. Tonight change is upon us. Tonight WE made a difference, not just for our country but for the world.

For the past several months I have heard an unsettling message come from people in my small town community and even some in my own family. That message was that America wasn't ready for an African American President.

Tonight I am proud to be one of the over 52,800,000 Americans who said YES I AM READY. Tonight America said YES WE ARE READY. Tonight history was made and I was a part of it.

Tonight I have a renewed sense of HOPE for America.

Tonight there are no words to do this moment justice.

Even though I didn't vote for him (don't agree with almost all of his policies) I AM ready for a President that isn't white (or a man for that matter)

The only thing Dems need to be careful of is that they now have FULL power. White House - and Congress. What this means is that, at least for the next two years, they have NO one to blame if things don't go well. They can't say that it's the Republicas fault for ANYTHING. I'm not sure they are ready for that. (no party is - I've seen it a lot)

That said, I hope and pray that the "change" that is coming isn't going to hurt our country even more. :)

I did not vote for Obama. That had nothing to do with the color of skin and EVERYTHING to do with the content of his character.

Now more than ever we need to pray for our nation.

I loved every minute of watching the rally and I'm not very entrenched in politics. The Obamas are such REAL people, I think it's great that they're the next first family.
