Another Summer Gone

Another summer has officially gone. This summer brought one friend home, back to our small town from the big city. It left another pondering if he made some of the right decisions. The season left yet another longing for more time. It took another friend far away. The four of us sat on the deck around a glass table recalling our favorite, most memorable moments of summer and some of the low points. The air was noticeably cooler, sending some of us inside for long sleeved t-shirts. A sure sign that summer was slipping away despite our desire to stay out and savor every last minute for as long as we could. After a while there was a comfortable, contented silence that fell upon us punctuated with the occasional sounds of cicadas singing their nighttime song in the nearby pine trees and a barge slowly making its way down the river. The sun set with each of us lost in our own thoughts, with drink in hand quietly toasting the end of a season.

Le sigh. I'm still depressed that it's over.

I guess I should just look at the how awesome it will be to wear my fall clothes again :-)

Wow great picture. Yeah I'm sad summer is over, although the weather here has still been warm, but I'm ready for the change in temps for now :)

*Sight*... Though I don't feel the Automn coming, I still feel the time going by.

Extremely quickly.

Quicker than it should be.

At first I wasn't excited for fall but all of the sudden I am! I love going for long walks this time of the year...the air is crisp but not too cold!

I had big plans to go for a nice stroll after work but of course, I didn't!
