And The Award Goes To.....

RebeccaC from A Homemakers Habitat bestowed upon me an award that I in turn get to pass along!

First of all, thank you RebeccaC for the award! If you haven't yet been to her blog to see all the incredibly yummy food she prepares and has recipes for, you have no idea what you've been missing! She has helped convince me that a stove is actually more useful if its turned on, that cooking doesn't have to be hard or complicated, and most importantly that somewhere inside each of us is our own domestic goddess. I've also learned that no matter how much I try my pictures of food will NEVER come out looking like the ones on her page. But really, go peruse her page and trust me by the time you're done, you will be hungry no matter when you've last eaten and will have lost the urge to go out to eat and instead be rummaging through your cabinets looking for the ingredients needed for one of her fantastic meals. RebeccaC you are my Martha and I wish you had your own magazine/TV show (but not the prison record). I am going to make every possible attempt to convince you to move to OH(IO) with my life in a small town stories. Mainly because I am still jealous of Jessica who gets to sample your cooking. :-)

In following the rules of the award, I get to choose some of my favorite bloggers to share the award with.

Andy--You always crack me up and its time you were given an award for all the strange, random things that happen to you in any given day! Between the old lady from the gym, to the stalkers, to seeing what this next year has in store for you; your blog is one of my favorites. And I can always count on you to give me a song that will stay on repeat in my brain for at least two days.

Melanie--I love your dedication and compassion for helping others. You give me a constant reminder to remember how fortunate I really am. You are going to be an amazing teacher. I am also glad that there is someone else out there who has a grandmother that drives her insane, for a long time I thought I was the only one.

Trina--I always enjoy seeing a new post from you! Friday ones are my favorite! Asa is an adorable little boy and is totally lucky to have such a kick a$$ mom! The honesty in your posts is refreshing and enlightening. Your posts never fail to make me smile and laugh.

Kim--I simply amazed at the wonderful things you are doing with Baby A. (In addition to her own son, adopted from Guatemala; she is fostering another baby who came to the US for surgery.) You are such a generous person and inspire me to find ways to get involved. And we both have a deep love for novels, Barry Manilow, and the Buckeyes!

chickbug--I somehow came upon your blog and added it to my favorites list immediately! I love reading not only your posts but also the other "chicks" posts. I am bound and determined that some how I am going to make it for the next book discussion! (BTW, is there a link to last nights?) From deep thought provoking posits to posts about last nights latest tv show, your blog covers everything a girl needs to know!

There are some rules to this award so here they go:

If you already have the award just accept and that's all you have to do.

1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that presented her/him with the award.
4. The award winner and one who has given the prize have to show the link "Arte y Pico" blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. Show these rules.

I am off for the weekend to Columbus for a birthday celebration for my baby brother who turned 25 yesterday! We will be grilling out, playing cornhole, having a beer or two (or maybe more), and spending time with some of our very best friends. What are your plans for the weekend?

Have a fantastic weekend!!

Yes I need to pass mine forward too. Don't be jealous of me sampling her cooking. think of it more like she's feeding the culinarily underdeveloped.

Yay! Thank you for your kind words Mandy. Ohio might actually be in the cards for us someday (Hudson, to be specific...so cute!!). In the meantime, I've got friends and family in OH, so if I'm heading out anywhere close to you sometime, I promise to meet for cupcakes or other goodies. In the meantime keep cooking and posting! LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!
