Enjoying Spring

This past weekend I accomplished many things but nothing really. Do you ever have weekends like that? Sure I did some things I needed to do like laundry, but had I been more ambitious I could have organized my bills (one of my new years resolutions -- I'm a procrastinator remember, if I start my by June I'm in good shape.), written some cards to far away friends that I have been meaning to, I could have cleaned out my closet.

Instead I read outside. Played barefoot in freshly cut grass with my dog. Soaked up the sunshine and warmth that took way too long to get here. Went to dinner with my friends. Sat on a deck along the river, cold beer in hand. Gazed at the river and watched the sun set behind the foothills of the Appalachians. Picked some lilacs. Basically just took a break from the all the rushing around and busy-ness of life. I just breathed in the arrival of Spring, which has been a long time coming here in Ohio.

Yes, I've had weekends like that, and they are the best kind. For real.
